When Will We Smarten Up??

The number of deaths caused by smoking is appalling. Yet when stringent regulations were announced recently in Vancouver to curb smoking and make it almost impossible for people to smoke where other people are anywhere near, an unholy outcry went up all over our fair province.
Up until now, many have smoked in the same room where babies and little children are sleeping. Parents who want to do everything they can for the health and well- being of their children seem to turn off their brains when it comes to smoking near their children.

Honestly, I'm glad our politicians have had the courage to pass laws against smoking. May the Lord give success. Sin itself, like smoking, does untold damage to all around us (re Romans 1). If
we love others, we will do everything we can to stop sinning and to avoid sin. Jesus alone can give us the victory. Through Christ's death and resurrection from the dead, we have strength unleashed in our lives that is unbelievable. Receive Jesus into your heart of hearts, follow Him faithfully, and you will be amazed at the power of God you will experience in your life.
